$500 gets you: one 8 hour tracking session, one 4 hour overdub and mix session and one 2-4 hour mix fix and mastering session.

Brian and I spent a few days building some really useful gobos. They are totally modular with four lower units that have 1 side reflective and 1 side absorptive. The top units have plexiglass at a slight curve. The possibilities are endless! The arrival of the piano and an upcoming recording session prompted this construction…
Today I received a pair of JCF Audio LEVR line amps. These live on the stereo output of my folcrom 16×2 summing mixer used in most of the productions at Megasonic. The LEVR provides amplification and complements the folcrom perfectly. It was designed to be used with the Folcrom specifically. The resulting sound is wonderful….

Tomorrow we will be receiving a beautiful Yamaha C3 concert grand piano. This instrument is great for solo and combo work. The Yamaha was specifically chosen for it’s tonality and action. The C3 was chosen for the ratio of piano dimensions to room dimensions at Megasonic. This is a very exciting addition to the studio…
I just got a production copy of the Ken Berman Trio CD “Looking Forward”. The trio is: Ken, Kai Eckhardt on electric bass and Akira Tana on drums. We recorded this gem of a group at Bay Records on November 21st 2008 and April 3, 2009. Ken and I mixed it in a few sessions…
