I just got a production copy of the Ken Berman Trio CD “Looking Forward”. The trio is: Ken, Kai Eckhardt on electric bass and Akira Tana on drums. We recorded this gem of a group at Bay Records on November 21st 2008 and April 3, 2009. Ken and I mixed it in a few sessions…

Great news! The album “La Guerra No” By John Santos Y Kindembo has been nominated for “best world music” album. I helped out by recording and mixing this fine piece of work entirely @ Megasonic. Not bad for one of the first projects we finished in the new studio!
Christopher Johnson has been doing an amazing job bringing the piano up to snuff. He put in a full day yesterday on the action; regulation, string seating, hammer shaping, etc… Sunday is voicing and tuning! Better than new! here is a pic midway through the shaping process:
Brian and I spent a few days building some really useful gobos. They are totally modular with four lower units that have 1 side reflective and 1 side absorptive. The top units have plexiglass at a slight curve. The possibilities are endless! The arrival of the piano and an upcoming recording session prompted this construction…
