Great news! The album “La Guerra No” By John Santos Y Kindembo has been nominated for “best world music” album. I helped out by recording and mixing this fine piece of work entirely @ Megasonic. Not bad for one of the first projects we finished in the new studio!
Christopher Johnson has been doing an amazing job bringing the piano up to snuff. He put in a full day yesterday on the action; regulation, string seating, hammer shaping, etc… Sunday is voicing and tuning! Better than new! here is a pic midway through the shaping process:
Tomorrow we will be receiving a beautiful Yamaha C3 concert grand piano. This instrument is great for solo and combo work. The Yamaha was specifically chosen for it’s tonality and action. The C3 was chosen for the ratio of piano dimensions to room dimensions at Megasonic. This is a very exciting addition to the studio…
